For buyers

Do I need an account to browse sales?
No. You can browse the map, search by city, and view sale pages without signing up. An account is only needed to save favorites or follow a sale.
How do I pay for an item?
You pay the seller directly using their preferred personal payment method — Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, or cash in person (if they enabled it). The seller's handles are shown right on the sale page. Sellabout never collects or holds the money.
Does Sellabout hold my money or take a cut?
No. Sellabout is a listings platform only. Every payment goes directly from you to the seller through their personal payment app. We are not a party to the transaction.
What if there's a dispute?
Contact the seller first through the in-app messaging feature. If you paid through Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, or Cash App, use that app's built-in protection or dispute process. Sellabout cannot reverse a payment made off-platform — but we can suspend accounts and remove listings for fraud or policy violations.
Is it safe to meet sellers at their home?
Use common sense: pick up during the sale's posted hours, bring a friend, confirm the item before paying, and trust your instincts. Sellabout does not screen or background-check users.

For sellers

Is Sellabout free for sellers?
Yes — free accounts can run up to 3 active sales (10 items each, no item photos) and post unlimited classifieds. The $10/month membership unlocks unlimited photos, ongoing sales, and unlimited concurrent listings.
How do I get paid?
Buyers pay you directly through your preferred personal payment method — Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, or cash. Add your handles in your dashboard under "Payment methods" and they'll appear on your sale pages. Sellabout never takes a cut of your items — only your membership fee.
What payment methods can I accept?
Any combination of Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, and Cash App. You can also opt in to accepting cash in person at pickup. List at least one so buyers know how to pay you.
What can't I list?
Firearms, drugs, recalled goods, counterfeit items, hazardous materials, and anything illegal locally. See our Listing standards for the full list.
How do I cancel my membership?
From your dashboard, anytime. You keep access through the end of the current billing period.

For hoas

What is a community (HOA) sale on Sellabout?
One event where many homes in the same neighborhood sell on the same day. The organizer creates a community page, residents join with their own sales, and shoppers see one map for the whole event.
Do I need to be an HOA to organize one?
No. Anyone with authority to organize the event — HOA board, neighborhood association, school, church, apartment manager, or volunteer — can create a community page.
How do residents join?
You choose: invite code (default), approval required, or organizer-managed. Each setting balances ease of joining vs. oversight.
What does it cost?
A one-time event plan starts at $49. Recurring plans for ongoing communities start at $99/month. See pricing on the Communities page.
Can I get help setting it up?
Yes — the wizard walks you through every step. If you'd like a hand, message us from Support and we'll help.

For advertisers

Who can advertise on Sellabout?
Local businesses, services, and sellers — movers, junk removal, estate services, real estate, home services, and any business shoppers might need around a sale weekend.
Where do ads appear?
On the sales map, in city pages, on community event pages, and on sale detail pages — depending on the placement you choose during campaign setup.
How much does it cost?
Flat rates per placement, shown clearly during campaign setup. No bidding, no surprise overages.
Do my ads get reviewed?
Yes. Every campaign goes through a quick review (usually within one business day) to make sure it meets our ad standards before going live.
Can I get a refund on unspent budget?
Yes — unspent budget on a cancelled-before-launch campaign is fully refundable. Once a campaign goes live, spend is non-refundable except for proven delivery issues on our end.
